Mendoza Becomes the Epicenter of Sustainable Mining with a Summit Gathering National and International Leaders
The international summit will provide an opportunity to explore the latest developments in sustainable mining, capital markets, and prospects for minerals such as copper. It will take place on November 27, 28, and 29 at the Hilton Hotel. The opening will be led by Governor Alfredo Cornejo alongside his counterparts from San Juan, Salta, Catamarca, and Jujuy.
Mendoza is taking firm steps toward the development of sustainable mining and, for the first time, will bring together leading global figures in the field at the Mendoza Mining and Sustainability Summit (CMSM), which will span three days.
The event will gather national authorities, along with experts in mining and international capital markets, who will provide a course on accessing financing, capital markets, and investments.
Governor Alfredo Cornejo will open the event, joined by governors from other Andean provinces with mining potential: Raúl Jalil from Catamarca, Gustavo Sáenz from Salta, Marcelo Orrego from San Juan, and Carlos Sadir from Jujuy.
The CMSM aims to solidify Mendoza’s strategic direction in the mining sector by leveraging its geological resources and industrial expertise. The province seeks economic growth that creates quality jobs while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, exchanging insights with global leaders such as Canada.
The goal is to integrate mining harmoniously into the provincial economic framework, promoting sustainable development that incorporates public participation and a commitment to current laws and community engagement. This integration is essential for fostering equitable economic and social growth.
Key topics to be addressed include:
- Advances in transparency and regulatory, currency, fiscal, and customs stability.
- Sustainability practices and the implementation of projects like the *"Malargüe Western Mining District."*
- The *Pilares Plan* and its focus on inclusion and infrastructure development.
- Projections for key markets, particularly copper, and best practices in sustainability from leading companies.
- Financing and capital markets at both local and global levels.
Additionally, local capital market experts will present financing and investment instruments, while top international analysts and representatives from TMX (Toronto Stock Exchange) will provide insights on accessing global financing, highlighting the most effective tools to leverage the exploration opportunities Mendoza offers.
